Extra-Curricular Clubs

Cardwell offers a range of extra-curricular clubs to build independence, confidence and provide opportunities to develop creativity. We aim to get children move involved in their learning, so they can develop on Cardwell's core values - Mutual Respect, Resilience; Ambition; Compassion and Community. We set high expectations in all areas of the curriculum and are proud to celebrate children's successes and achievements with them. Our extensive offer of clubs is updated each term based on feedback.

We are pleased to announce that our extra-curricular clubs will begin on Monday 7th September 2026.

We are excited to be introducing several new clubs and providers this academic year, giving our pupils an even wider choice of activities to enjoy. Whether your child enjoys sport, technology or creative activities, we hope there is something for everyone.

Please find our provisional timetable below. Booking information and links for all clubs will be sent to parents on Friday 4th September.

Clubs during Autumn term are open to pupils in Year 1 to Year 6.

We look forward to seeing many of our pupils taking part and enjoying the wide range of activities on offer.

If you have any questions regarding extra-curricular clubs, please contact us at: officeadmin@cardwell.greenwich.sch.uk

Yours sincerely,

Cardwell School Office

Afterschool Club Bookings

  • School-based clubs: Bookings are made on a half-termly basis and must be completed via MCAS. You will need to rebook each half term. Bookings for school run clubs will go live on MCAS on Friday 4th September at 5PM.

External clubs: Bookings are made on a half termly basis via the booking link provided in the letter.

  • Please be aware that external providers only admit pupils who have been booked and paid for the new term. Even if your child attended previously, they will not be able to take part unless a new booking and payment has been made.

PE Kit

For all sports clubs, pupils must bring a change of clothes suitable for physical activity. Please ensure all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Snacks

Children do not need to bring a snack to after-school clubs. At the end of the school day, pupils go straight to their club and, for sports clubs, will need time to change into their PE kit before activities begin. Bringing snacks would reduce the time available for the club.

Behaviour Expectations

We expect all pupils attending extra-curricular clubs to follow our school behaviour expectations and show respect towards staff, club leaders and other pupils.

Collection

Children attending after-school clubs must be collected promptly at 4:10pm from the designated collection point. Repeated late collection may result in your child losing their place in the club, as we need to ensure clubs finish on time.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast club will start on Friday 4th Septemberand will run until the end of the academic year. The club starts at 8am, breakfast is included. Please arrive before 8am via Year 1 gate. The club costs £3 per day to attend. All places must be pre-booked and paid for via MCAS (Wraparound Care)
