We have learnt about the famous 'Great Fire of London' and sequenced the key events in chronological order. In English, we had fun reading and identifying features of a comic strip and wrote a report about it.
We made links to our history topic the 'Great Fire of London' and produced a fire safety leaflet for adults.
We were excited and proud of our artwork, which was drawing skylines of London.
In Science, we enjoyed carrying out an investigation into how materials are made, we even attempted to make our own paper!
In Maths, we learnt how to partition numbers up to the value of three digits to enable us to calculate numbers quickly and we have been adding three numbers together and learning to identify multiples of ten. We have focused on subtraction and learnt to subtract a 2-digit number from a 2-digit number.
We loved learning the 'Rama and Sita' story in RE and made our own story maps.
We studied a text called ‘Poppy field’ written by Michael Morpurgo in English and used a range of adjectives to describe the setting. We followed written instructions to make a poppy flower. We also wrote a letter in role, as the poppy girl, to the soldier.
In Maths, we learnt about multiplication using arrays and then used our times tables to solve problems. We identified all coins, counting money using notes and coins leading on to finding different totals. We have enjoyed learning about fractions and have investigated whether parts of a shape or number of objects were equal. From this, we were then able to find half of a number.
In Science, we enjoyed researching about the life of Charles Mackintosh; the inventor of waterproof materials.
In RE, we visited a Hindu Temple and made diva lamps out of clay to help Rama and Sita find their way home. We also learnt about Hanukah and created dreidels; which is a children's game played during Hanukah.
