Remote Learning Provision Information for Parents/Carers

As a school we should publish information about their remote education provision on our website so that pupils and their parents know what to expect from their school if they need to self-isolate, or where national or local restriction require them to remain at home.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom Login

Work can be accessed online through Google Classroom. Your child will be assigned work by their teacher that they will be able to complete online. Google Classroom is accessible on any mobile device with internet capabilities - including iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

Your child will have been provided with all the access information and passwords needed for them to access resources and learning at home. 

Logging into Google Classroom from home

Step 1: Sign in to your Google account by typing in www.google.com into your web browser and clicking the blue sign in button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Their login is: username@cardwell.greenwich.sch.uk   Every child has an individual login.

Step 2: Go to the Google classroom by typing “Google classroom” into the search box and clicking on the link that says “Classroom-Google”.

Step 3: Select your class.

Step 4: Go to the stream to find any work/activities that have been sent and click on them to complete any assigned.

Click ‘Turn in when finished’.

Times Table Rockstars

Times Table Rockstars Login

Using Times Tables Rockstars is a fun and effective way for your child to improve their speed and accuracy of recalling times table facts.

They can choose one of the following games:

  • Single Player
  • Garage - Best for getting quicker at a few facts.
  • Studio - The questions in the Studio can be anything from 1×1 up to 12×12. This is where they can improve their Rock Status!
  • Multiplayer 
  • Rock Arena - They can compete against other members of their band (Maths class).  
  • Rock Festival - They can compete against other TT Rockstars from across the world!

Year Nursery - Autumn 1

Every Friday your child will choose a book to take home, please take time to encourage you child to read. Please return this book the following Friday so that they can exchange it for another book.

 

Year Reception - Autumn 1

Please spend 10 -15 minutes reading with your child, remember to write a comment or sign their reading journal.Ask your child questions to check understanding.

 

Year 1 - Autumn 1

Homework will be given on a Friday. Every week, spellings will be sent home and tested on Fridays. Children MUST bring their reading book and reading journal EVERYDAY to enable us to read with them. Please spend 10 -15 minutes reading with your child, remember to write a comment or sign. Share other books with your child with either them reading or you reading. Ask your child questions to check understanding.

 

Year 2 - Autumn 1

Every Friday children will receive homework (Maths, English and spellings). Spellings: Spelling tests will take place every Friday mornings. Children will take home a spelling slip, which will show their outcomes of the test. Multiplications: Multiplications tests will take place every Friday morning. Children will take home a multiplication slip, which will show the outcomes of their test. ‘Please help your child practise their spellings and times tables’ Reading: For your child to become a fluent reader, they must read EVERYDAY. Please spend some time your child (reading to them or them reading to you). Encourage your child to answer questions about the book (closed and open-ended questions). Please sign and write a comment in their reading journal. Please ensure your child is bringing their reading journal into school every day

 

Year 3 - Autumn 1

Your child will receive new spellings on a Friday of every week. Please spend some time with your child learning these for a spelling test the following Friday. The expectation is that, all children read every day and ensure that an adult signs their reading record book at least three times every week.

 

Year 4 - Autumn 1

Your child will receive Homework on a Friday, to be due back the following Monday. Children will have a Maths and English task to complete each week as well as spellings to learn. The expectation is that, all children read every day and ensure that an adult signs their reading record book at least three times every week.

 

Year 5 - Autumn 1

Homework will be given each week on a Monday – children will be asked to practise their times tables and will have spellings to learn for a test the following Friday. They are expected to read every day and ensure an adult signs their reading record book at least three times every week.

 

Year 6 - Autumn 1

Homework will be handed out on a Friday and is due back every Monday. Pupils may have a Maths and/or English task to complete each week, as well as spellings to learn and times tables, which will be tested on a Friday. They are also expected to read every day and ensure their reading record book is signed at least three times every week.
