Joint School Parliament (Only Key Stage 2) - Cardwell/Eglinton/St Joseph's

The children from all three schools meet to decide on a partnership project that they can collaborate on that will have an impact on children from all three schools as well as on a larger scale.

WE Representative meeting (February) - Decide on joint project (Anti-Bullying)

Attended WE Day (March) - Complete decided joint School Parliament project

Joint Project - Single Use Plastic

The children decided they wanted to make a difference to the environment and reduce the amount of single use plastic in the schools. Therefore they organised to recycle pens by having a pen recycling bank in which used pens are collected and sent to Terra-Cycle to be recycled. They re-used glue-sticks by turning them into crayons for the Foundation Stage to use.

Then they designed and got re-usable bottles made for every child in their house colour that they could use instead of single use plastic bottles on trips and could also use in class.

They then submitted the project idea into the Sky Ocean Rescue competition and won re-usable plastic bottles for themselves
