Cardwell's Key Values

Mutual Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, Tolerance and Perseverance.

Cardwell Primary School is recognised by UNICEF as a Rights Respecting School.

The safeguarding and welfare of our children is at the core of our beliefs and all children are aware of their rights and responsibilities.  The rights are universal and promote the British, universal values of: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs.

They also fit our fundamental beliefs which are:

  • All Cardwell pupils have a right to an outstanding education

  • All children have a right to be heard

  • All children have the right to be treated fairly

  • All children have the right to be healthy

Cardwell's motto is ‘Learning for Life’, striving to ensure all pupils take pride in their own strengths and success.

Developing the whole child

At Cardwell, we celebrate and develop children’s individual talents and we emphasise the importance of developing the whole child.

We recognise the importance of developing a child’s character, nurturing their talents and inspiring their creativity. We always encourage children to be proud of who they are and recognise what they can achieve when they believe in themselves.

Through participating in extra-curricular activity, educational visits, workshops and inter-school competition pupils develop a range of skills including - individuality, perseverance, ambition and resilience which can then be applied in everything they do.
